Arkansas Gives

Show Your Love for the Library on Arkansas Gives Day!
April 6, 2017, 8:00am – 8:00pm

Why give to the Baxter County Library Foundation ?

Reason #1:   24/7 Access to Services and Resources

Library services and resources are not only available in person, they are available on-line at From information on repairing your vehicle to finding your ancestors, from eBooks and eAudiobooks, to digital magazines, the Library’s website makes accessing information, a good read, or your Library account convenient day or night.

Reason #2:  Access to Technology

In an Internet-driven age, where information, services, and resources are increasingly available only online, people without access to a computer or the Internet are at a considerable disadvantage. The Baxter County Library bridges this gap in our community.

The Library provides over twenty public computers, printer/copier machines, High Speed Internet, free Wi-Fi, plus classes for basic computer skills, e-Reader use, and cell phones.

Reason #3:  Exhibits

Exciting, interactive exhibits, such as the upcoming Fall exhibit Brain Teasers2, make big-city museum experiences possible right here in our community. Hands-on, interactive exhibit experiences bring art, history, science, and technology to life for all ages.

Reason #4:  Adult Programs

Library services can help people transform their lives by providing access to materials and experiences that they may not receive elsewhere.

The Baxter County Library offers an inviting environment that offers education, recreation, and technology services.  From meeting rooms to technology classes, from Try Something New Night programs to yoga, the Baxter County Library is a place that adults can continue to grow.

Reason #5:  Teens

Libraries provide a lifeline for teens by providing a safe and supervised space for adolescents to engage in creative, educational activities.  From crafts to tutoring, from gaming to writing and illustrating the Baxter County Library has dynamic programs to reach the needs of our teens.

Reason #6:  Early Literacy

Research indicates that it is never too early to start preparing children for reading success.

Baxter County Library’s 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program engages parents in a commitment to read 1000 books to their child before kindergarten. Over 400 children are enrolled in the program, and over 60 children have completed it!

The Children’s Library also provides engaging story times, early literacy programs like, instant access to ebooks and audio books on the Library’s website, and summer reading programs to keep the joy of reading going all year long!

You can help grow the love for Arkansas’s nonprofit organizations by making a donation to the charity of your choice. The Arkansas Community Foundation is challenging all Arkansans to make a donation on a single day in recognition of the vital work our local charitable organizations do. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, or mentoring our children, AkansasGives is a chance for our state to say thanks!
